I stumbled upon this song once and I've been stumbling upon ever since. This song is from the Hindi Movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I was listening to the song, but my mind was picturing actor Sivaji Ganesan holding his arrow borne chest, lying besides a chariot. Do I have to tell you the movie is Karnan and the song is "Ullathil Nalla Ullam". I still was listening, Sivaji Ganesan faded out quietly and Padamshree K.J. Yesudass song faded in stealthily. And the song was "Nee Pathi naan Pathi" from the movie Keladi Kanmani. Since the aforesaid songs are "Chakravakam" I was about to conclude "Albela" is Chakravaham too. But actor Rajinikanth came to my mind along with the song "Vidukathaya intha Vaazhkai". This song in based on Ahir Bhairavi. Since I don't know much about ragas, I had to take the help of google to find out Arohanam and Avarohanam of both the songs.

Somehow I feel, "Albela" is more of Chakravakam.
This song has good beats. Aishwarya Rai would've given a great performance
for the beats. But she was totally wasted in the song. Nevertheless an exceptional song.

DeleteBoth Salman and Aishwarya are misfits.The picturization is nowhere near Ullathil Nalla Ullam...in Karnan. The song still remains as one of the most iconic compositions ever, not only for the music but also for its wonderful depiction.
