Puriyavillai ithu Puriyavillai - Jog

This song is from the movie Singam 2.  As  usual I was not able to identify the raga the first time.  So I listened couple of more times.  I was getting a little close to some other song in the same ragam.   Couple of more times, I was getting pretty close to that song.  Another couple of more times, I landed on "Pramathavanam Vendum" from the Malayalam Movie, His Highness Abdullah.  The song is set to Raga Jog. When I was listening to "Pramathavanam Vendum", Actress Nadhiya's face was flashing in my head.  As I brainstormed,  "Kadhal Oorvalam Inge" from Pookalai Parikadheergal came to my mind after the storm subsided.  And that is another Jog.  In conclusion, "Puriyavillai" is Jog.

    Is it not Chalanaatai ish? i am also finding it a bit to delineate the song into one specific raga

    Definitely not jog as the song has Dha2/Ni1 in the composition. Jog uses Ni3/Ni2 in avarahana. It is probably Chalanaatai with use of Dha2 occasionally
